Group Yoga Classes and Workshops

Join Rachel Ishiguro (she/her), IAYT-certified yoga therapist, for a small-group class series or workshop. Rachel specializes in yoga for stress and pain reduction, improving movement patterns, and growing your awareness of what your body is telling you so you can be in the driver’s seat of your own healing.

Programs are offered ONLINE or IN-PERSON at various locations around San Diego. Many programs have “pay what you can” or sliding scale options.

Into the Dark: Quiet Practices for the Winter Solstice

Wednesday, December 21st, 6:00- 7:00pm Pacific Time

The Winter Solstice on December 21st is the shortest day and longest night of the year. It symbolizes ending and beginning, as the sun “returns” and days begin to lengthen the following day. The longer darkness makes this a natural time to pause, turn inward, reflect, and rest.

Join Rachel for an online workshop exploring quiet and restful yoga practices in celebration of the Winter Solstice. We’ll do some gentle movement, breath work, and restorative yoga poses, and end with the healing meditation practice of Yoga Nidra. The workshop recording will be available to all registered participants for online viewing through the end of the year.

Take some time to cultivate stillness and rest during this often hectic season. This practice can be done on the floor or your furniture, using regular pillows and blankets or yoga props such as bolsters, and is highly adaptable for your needs. No experience is necessary to take part.

Gentle Yoga ONLINE 4-class series

January 4th- January 25th, Wednesdays 10-11am Pacific Time on Zoom plus recording access

Get over the hump! Join me for this deeply relaxing and nurturing practice. Classes will include: simple meditation and breath work, gentle movement to support healthy joints, and supported rest. All levels and abilities are welcome and supported in this practice. Experience profound stress relief, and surface with a deeper sense of embodiment and ease that comes from tuning in to the wisdom of your own body.

Program fee (4-week series): $64. Classes will be recorded (only the teacher video will show on the recording) and will be available to registered students to view for one week following each class. Downloads will not be permitted.

Therapeutic Yoga for Your Feet, Legs, and Hips ONLINE program

January 18th- February 15th, Wednesdays 6-7pm Pacific Time online via Zoom

This small-group program is designed for people with persistent pain, tightness, and other symptoms in their lower body. Focus in on nurturing health in your feet, ankles, legs, knees, and hips using yoga therapy practices such as poses and functional movement, breath work, meditation, self-massage, and more. This program is a good starting point if you have a history of lower body injuries or suffer from plantar fasciitis, chronically tight legs or hips, knee pain, and more.

You’ll learn to recruit the amazing adaptability of your human brain and body in order to reduce pain and tightness and improve function. Grow your awareness of what’s happening in your body, and develop a better understanding of what your symptoms are trying to tell you. This key ingredient of therapeutic yoga puts you in the driver’s seat of your own healing as you learn to move better and feel better.
