Group Yoga Classes and Workshops

Join Rachel Ishiguro (she/her), IAYT-certified yoga therapist, for a small-group class series or workshop. Rachel specializes in yoga for stress and pain reduction, improving movement patterns, and growing your awareness of what your body is telling you so you can be in the driver’s seat of your own healing.

Programs are offered ONLINE or IN-PERSON at various locations around San Diego. Many programs have “pay what you can” or sliding scale options.

Gentle Yoga ONLINE 3-class series

July 6th- 20th, Wednesdays 10:00- 11:00am Pacific Time on Zoom plus recording access

Get over the hump! Join me for this deeply relaxing and nurturing practice. Classes will include: simple meditation and breath work, gentle movement to support healthy joints, and supported rest. All levels and abilities are welcome and supported in this practice. Experience profound stress relief, and surface with a deeper sense of embodiment and ease that comes from tuning in to the wisdom of your own body.

Program fee (4-week series): $45. Classes will be recorded (only the teacher video will show on the recording) and will be available to registered students to view for one week following each class. Downloads will not be permitted.

Yoga Nidra: Conscious Relaxation Workshop

Sunday, July 31st, 4:00- 5:00pm Pacific Time on Zoom plus recording access

Join me for the guided relaxation practice known as Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep. Despite the name, this practice is a form of conscious awareness and not an actual nap (although if you need one, that’s OK too. You’ll get recording access for two weeks following the workshop so you can try again.) Deeply relaxing and rejuvenating, Yoga Nidra is well researched and commonly used therapeutically for everything from stress, anxiety, and insomnia to physical pain. The entire practice is guided, with a clear structure; no experience is necessary, and it’s very easy to do. All you need is a comfortable place to relax, which can be on a bed, couch, chair, or on the floor. You do not need to be on camera for this workshop so feel free to make yourself comfortable.

Workshop fee: $20. Class will be recorded (only the teacher video will show on the recording) and will be available to registered students to view online for two weeks. Downloads will not be permitted.

Therapeutic Yoga ONLINE mini-program: Pain Relief for Modern Life

August 3- 17 (3 weeks), Wednesdays 6-7pm Pacific Time online

For the first time, I’m offering a shorter 3-week mini-program to teach you to use yoga as an antidote to the discomfort that arises from too much desk time and other common lifestyle habits. In Pain Relief for Modern Life, you’ll get an introduction to the basics of my therapeutic approach to using yoga within the context of your actual life to reduce pain and manage stress. In the weekly classes, you’ll learn about how your body is designed to move and how to decode what your body is telling you as a guide towards feeling better. Using yoga practices such as breath work, awareness of sensation, and mindful movement/ yoga poses, you’ll create more ease, improve your movement patterns, and take the first steps towards a better relationship with your body… and your desk.
