Rachel is pleased to partner with Namaste Nepal – Helping Himalayan Children. This California-based non-profit’s mission is to enhance the social, emotional and educational growth of Himalayan children through collaborative projects that support their communities, are based on mutual respect, and maintain the dignity of the Nepalese culture.
Last year, sponsorship of Rachel’s run in the Edge to Edge marathon helped fund a new children’s library in Saranpur village in Chitwan, Nepal. The library opened in late 2010. These library projects help provide children in rural areas of Nepal with access to books, education, and literacy that will have a lasting effect on the quality of their lives.
Rachel will be offering several donation-based classes to benefit NNHHC educational projects in Nepal in 2011. All fundraising classes are open to all levels of yoga experience and are by donation to Namaste Nepal. All donations are tax exempt and go towards helping to improve the quality of life for children in Nepal, including the prevention of human trafficking through educational opportunities.
Thank you to all who attended and/or supported the September 18th Yoga for Change session in Fullerton, CA. We had a beautiful session under the trees in Ted Craig Regional Park, accompanied by birds, butterflies and dragonflies.
Please stay tuned for information about upcoming classes in the San Diego area.
